Trillium Kid's Club - Egg head Planters

What you will need:

  • Empty eggshells
  • Texta markers
  • Cotton wool or soil
  • Glue or sticky tape
  • grass seeds - you can also use birdseed
  • Spray bottle with water
  • Card stock

Let's Create!

  1. Wash out the eggshells so that you have a clean surface to work with.  Be careful, as the eggshells will be delicate.
  2. Wrap the cardstock around in a circle to create a stand for your egg.  Stick the end of the cardstock together with some glue or sticky tape.
  3. Place the cotton wool or soil inside the eggshell.
  4. Decorate the front of your egg by drawing a face.  You can use different coloured markers for each facial feature.
  5. Place the egg on top of cardstock stands so that it stands steadily.
  6. Spray a small amount of water into the cotton wool/soil to dampen the area.
  7. Place your seeds in the egghead, and spray them with a little bit more water.
  8. Place your Egghead in a warm spot in a window and remember to keep the cotton wool damp so that the seeds can grow.  Over the next few weeks, your Egghead will grow some hair!
